Author's note; My second drabble. =o

The character's are Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, when Hermione left her during the hunt, of course. Written for Drabble Challenge #56 at the Sugarquill at Hogwarts is Home at Livejournal. (-oggles at all the 'at's-)

The easiest thing for her to do was to expect it. She didn't want to think about it, but she knew it was coming, and maybe if she prepared for it, if she braced herself, it wouldn't hurt so much. So when he storms out of the tent, she clenches every muscle in her body, as though that will stop him. She chases after him screaming, every last part of her is screaming, and then he's gone. She realizes that no amount of preparation could ever steady her for this crushing blow.

And suddenly, finding the Horcruxes doesn't seem important.
