VAN HELSING 3: SOUL HUNTERS
(Author's note: I still don't own Van Helsing. Anyway, it would be nice if people stared to review on my chapters. It makes me feel bad when people don't. :( Anyway, here's the new chapter.) Chapter 3: The secrets of Victoria Van Helsing. Gabriel and Anna were in the hallway, waking everybody up for their new assignment when Anna finally brought it up. "When will it happen, Gabriel?" she asked. Gabriel turned to her in surprise. "What will happen?" Anna sighed. "You know what I'm talking about." she said. Gabriel soon caught on. "Oh." was all he could manage to say. They had been engaged for three months, and nothing happened yet. The two did love each other, but the Holy Order had kept them so busy Gabriel and Anna never even got started on planning the marriage. "I'm sorry, Anna." he said quietly. He blamed it on himself for neglecting his love's wants. "It's just that the Order has been real pressed about monsters these days, I never found time to-" He stopped at that point because Anna had pulled him close to her. "You don't need to trouble yourself too much." she said, a sly grin tugging at her mouth. "Well not in front of someone's door." Gabriel said. "Let them look." Anna said. As she leaned in for the kiss, a door flew open. Carl came out, falling flat on the floor. A few things went flying through the air and landed beside him. "Carl, are you alright?" Gabriel asked, trying hard not to laugh. Carl looked up at him with dazed eyes. He then noticed he dropped his thens. He let out a yelp and scrambled to pick them up. Gabriel rolled his eyes and went to help him. The first thing he picked up was a small vial.He peered inside it to see a small amount of pitch black liquid. "Carl, what is this stuff?" he asked. Carl saw what he was holding and squealed. He grabbed it from Gabriel and tucked it into his pocket. "I-It's nothing, I can assure y-you, V-Van Helsing." he stuttered. If it was one thing Carl was good at it was lying. "I have to go see Furie. I need to talk to her." he said, pointing towards her door. Victoria's head soon popped out of her door. She had moved back in when Isabelle left to acquire her things, which the thought of what they were made everyone shudder. "I'm in here, Carl. Come on in." she said. Carl soon scurried into her room. Gabriel turned to Anna, who shared his look of bewilderment. "What just happened?" Anna shrugged. "You don't think-" she started, but stopped. The pair's eyes widened at the thought. "Anyway," Gabriel said, shaking away the thought. "those two are keeping secrets from us. We should keep an eye on them." he said. Anna agreed full-heartedly. Vicotria immediately shut the door as soon Carl was in the room. She even locked it for good measure. She turned to Carl, murder in her eyes. "Did he see anything?" she asked. Carl felt his bones rattling inside him. "He saw the blood, but he never found out what it was. I also have the outcomes, but he didn't see them." he said nervously. Victoria's attention was then planted on Carl when he said 'result'. "How are they?" she asked. Carl gulped. "Bad." "What have you got?" she asked. She quietly made her way towards the mirror in her room. She never used much, but it became useful for the past few weeks after she found out about her condition. "The blood is remaining in the area of the wound, but it'll soon spread through you. The exact same thing that gave Gabriel and Anna life is now killing you." he said. He shuddered when Victoria lowered her cloak's shoulder to reveal her bare skin. By the neck and completely covering her shoulder, was a large black spot on Victoria's skin. Upon it was many scabs. She had tried to force the remains of the blood out, but it only let her true blood seep out of it. "How did this happen to me again, Carl?" she asked. "You had a stab wound when you fell in the lake below the demon's fortress, which was filled with blood, and some got in you." he didn't need to mention who the demons were. Amelia and William, the brother and sister of Dracula. They captured her and transformed her into an archdemon, which soon let to their demise. However, it appeared they would win after all. Victoria then grabbed her shoulder and gasped. A shot of pain ran through her. It felt like she was being stabbed all over again. She fell to her knees. Carl rushed over to her and helped her up. "I don't think you can take much more of this, Victoria. You need to tell someone." he said. Victoria ignored him and left the room. When everyone was finally outside, they pulled their horses out in the open air. Isabelle then stopped when she saw what was happening, for she had been inside preparing herself. She had no weapons on her whatsoever, just a blue dress and a fan. "Oh, I thought we were going to take a carriage." she said. Victoria turned to her. "Horses alone move faster." she said as she stroked her horse's mane. "Not this one!" came two voices. Victoria whirled to see Tom and Antonio carrying a large suitcase. Victoria's eyes widened as she rushed to help them. "Is this all HER stuff?" she asked her voice a low hiss. She heaved some of the suitcase up into her arms. "It's my dresses, thank you very much." Isabelle said. Gabriel's and Anna's eyes went wide. What did she think this was, a enjoyable journey to a country estate? No! This was a mission to save Europe with the most likely outcome of death. Isabelle's horse seemed to moan when the suitcase came on her. No one could help but feel a bit sad for it. Still, there was nothing to be done about it. Isabelle refused to come without her luggage. As the early sun was beginning to rise, hoof prints could be seen outside the city...
